Early Research Work.
Early research work following on from the Television series included a series of one to one experiments using mediums and psychics.
Another mass experiment photographic experiment took place using 32 volunteers. The results from that were both amazingly encouraging and also proved a control issue over the volunteers personal thoughts, agenda and wants.
In total the early research did not prove anything beyond reasonable doubt, but with an approximate average 60% success rate in the early experiments, which was just short of 2 standard deviations from the norm but! It did however prove that we were getting results that were not just attributable to any placebo effect taking place.
It also provided me with further ideas to test and develop further experimentation.
The biggest challenge in any research is overcoming peoples preconceived ideas be that mine or other people! Also social and cultural effects have to be accounted for.
Also funding proved a headache in the UK every probable location wanted money for us to use the location, which is fair enough. But it hampered research on and off in the early years. As did a lack of financial resources to purchase equipment.
However, over time most of these issues were overcome or worked around. All the early work was simply carried out in England and Wales.
